Our assessment process is transparent, collaborative, and trauma-informed. We focus on understanding each child within their relational and environmental context — not just their test results.

1. Referral & Planning

Discussion with referrer or home manager to define the purpose and focus of the assessment.
Agreement on scope, timescale, and which tools will be used.

2. Background Information Gathering

Review of existing reports, care plans, and education records.
Consultation with staff, social workers, and (where appropriate) family or carers.

3. Direct Assessment Sessions

One-to-one sessions with the child in a comfortable setting.
Assessment tools chosen to suit the child’s age, attention, and communication style.
Observations of interaction, play, and behaviour in context.

4. Scoring, Analysis & Clinical Formulation

Data interpreted alongside developmental history, presentation, and trauma background.
Integration of findings from other disciplines.

5. Feedback & Report

Clear, jargon-free written report with key findings and recommendations.
Feedback meeting with staff (and child, if appropriate) to support understanding and practical application.
